Converting water towers into living spaces seems to be a growing trend, and now it’s hitting New York. Architect Brian Messana recently completed a loft expansion which involved converting the old rooftop sprinkler tank into a luxury apartment. With all the typical accoutrements of modern living, the Tank House features a dining room, bedroom, living room, as well as a special space on the second floor with an entrancing aperture at the top of the structure’s domed roof. The Tank House is a sort of treehouse retreat, allowing occupants the opportunity to rest in tranquility amid the hustle and bustle of the big city.
